From primarily a cultural tourist destination for several decades, India has emerged as one of the most sought-after adventure destinations for discerning international travelers. Perhaps no other single country in the world offers the variety of adventure opportunities which this South Asian nation does. This diversity is absolutely fascinating - from heli-skiing in the high Himalayas to river-rafting in the white waters of the mighty Ganga.

Zanskar is located on a most difficult trek, the striking feature of the region is its unique life style. Ladakh is much easier to approach through the means of airways. A jet plane flies from New Delhi to Leh, therefore I opted for this facility and fly to Leh.

This summer, I visited India after a gap of 5 years, along with my wife Padma, and daughter Rukmani. After listening to my childhood adventure tails with Darjeeling Toy Train, little Rukmani was so much thrilled that right from home she was insisting on traveling through the Toy Train -Darjeeling is my home town and I was born and brought up in this valley.
