There is not much difference in hand gliding and hang
gliding, more or less both are same type of aero-sports.
The Indian sub continent has in the past, led many adventure drives that
have exhibited its influence of not just the seas but also of the land and
the skies. From Rock-Climbing, High Altitude Treks, White Water Rafting to
Scuba diving and Ocean sailing, the adventure enthusiasts are also actively
involved with various forms of aero-sport activity like- Para Sailing, Sky
Diving, Hand Gliding and Powered Hand Gliding.
A hand-glider has a heavy mechanism, almost 55-kg in weight. The glider is
quite cumbersome and much-complicated object, taking around more then 2
hours to open and almost the same time to fold back. The technicalities are
more tedious than, para-glider. Besides all these, this sport is still quite
in demand as the satisfaction and ecstasy of floating on air in the vast
blue sky, like a bird is unique and tremendous.

· Like all sports, there is an element of risk involved in hand
gliding, these hazards can be avoided through proper education and training.
· For individual hand gliding, try to get your hands on a fast
convertible glider that works best for hand gliding.
· As the glider reduces the speed, the hand should be flown down
towards the lower part of the window frame, and leveled off at about 2
inches. The hand should then lightly settle to the doorframe.
Good second hand gliders are also available at reasonable price.
